Summary
- Dr. Lubberstedt graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003 and chose to pursue a career in psychiatry as he found his greatest satisfaction in health care encounters were through investigating, educating, and treating patients who presented with emotional or behavioral problems. He completed his general psychiatry residency through the Creighton Medical Center/UNMC program in 2006, and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry through the same program in 2008. Dr. Lubberstedt was subsequently certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry in 2008, and in child and adolescent psychiatry in 2009.
Prior to joining Psychiatric Services, P.C. Dr. Lubberstedt worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment, inpatient and partial hospitalization, group homes, and outpatient clinic. He joined Psychiatric Services, P.C. in 2014 so he could focus his time and attention on outpatient care, specializing primarily in pediatric psychiatry. What he enjoys most about psychiatry is the part he gets to play in restoring the health of his patients. “While there are many medical conditions that you can see with your naked eye, what I help with is no less damaging, but I feel all the more rewarding. I have the honor of helping people achieve a higher quality of life than they had before, and in many cases get to assist children and adults in maturing and flourishing into the people that God created them to be.”
When not working, Dr. Lubberstedt is an avid runner, Husker fan, and loves exploring the mountains whenever he gets the chance.
