  • Dr. Kuhn is a licensed psychologist and Professor of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He is a diplomat of behavioral sleep medicine (DBSM) and a member of the international Pediatric Sleep Council (www.babysleep.com). Dr. Kuhn directs the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic at the Children’s Nebraska Sleep Disorders Center, where he supervises medical residents, sleep fellows, and psychology interns in the assessment and treatment of pediatric sleep disorders.

    With over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kuhn has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric sleep medicine. He served on the committee that established national standards of practice for children with bedtime resistance and nighttime awakenings, sponsored by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Dr. Kuhn has published more than 50 journal articles and book chapters on children’s behavioral health issues and co-edited the comprehensive primer, Behavioral Treatments for Sleep Disorders. He is also the co-author of the popular press book, The Toddler Owner’s Manual: Operating Instructions, Troubleshooting Tips, and Advice on System Maintenance.

    Dr. Kuhn earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Oklahoma State University and his BS in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Kearney State College. His research and clinical interests include behavioral sleep medicine, empirically based interventions for pediatric sleep disorders, behavioral parent training, and disruptive behavior disorders.
