- Dr. Messick is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. He is an associate professor of family and community medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He also serves as the assistant director of the Cabarrus Sports Medicine Fellowship program.
Dr. Messick is heavily involved in the sports medicine community, serving as chief medical officer for the Charlotte Football Club. He has served as team physician for several organizations and events at various levels of athletic play, including Catawba College, the Marine Corps Marathon, a USA Volleyball tournament and many other high school teams and tournaments.
