Summary

  • Following a rewarding undergraduate experience at Northwestern, he received his medical education and graduated with honors from Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. Dr. Ullery completed general surgery training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was fortunate to have outstanding mentorship that allowed him to refine his surgical interests to the complex and patient-centered field of vascular surgery. He then completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Stanford University.

    Dr. Ullery served as Medical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Providence Health & Services – Oregon since 2017. In 2024, he joined the efforts of his colleagues at Oregon Vascular Specialists (OVS) in Central Oregon to expand the modern delivery of vascular care to the Portland metropolitan area. He now serves as Medical Director of Oregon Vascular Specialists - Portland (oregonvascular.org).

    His clinical and academic interest involves management of complex thoracic and abdominal aortic pathologies, as well as critical limb ischemia/limb salvage. In addition, Dr. Ullery serves as an active contributor to Stanford’s Vascular Intervention Biomechanics and Engineering (VIBE) laboratory. He is an active clinical researcher, including serving as Site Principal Investigator on numerous aortic, carotid, and peripheral clinical trials. He is currently the National Principal Investigator for the SOCRATES Trial, which compares the clinical outcomes of endosuture aneurysm repair (ESAR) vs. fenestrated EVAR in patients with short neck abdominal aortic aneurysms. Dr. Ullery is co-founder and executive board member of the United States Laser In-Situ Fenestration of Aortic Endografts (LIFE) Registry. He has authored more than 125 peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and serves as a reviewer or editorial member for multiple premier surgical journals.
