Summary

  • I am a neurologist with sub-specialty training in multiple sclerosis and neuroimaging. I received my MD degree from the University of Rijeka, Croatia, in 1994, and after moving to the US, acquired an MPH degree from the University of Connecticut in 2006. I completed Neurology residency training at the University of New Mexico in 2008. I was awarded a clinical Multiple Sclerosis fellowship from the National MS Society and completed my Clinical Neuroimmunology specialization at the University of Massachusetts, graduating in 2009. I obtained Neuroimaging sub-specialty certification in January of 2015.
After completing the fellowship training in 2009, I decided to move to Maine, not just because of the beauty of this state, but also with the goal of establishing the first Comprehensive Care Multiple Sclerosis Center which could provide excellence in MS care in an area with one of highest prevalence rates of multiple sclerosis in the country.
Currently, I am the program director of the Maine Medical Partners - Neurology Multiple Sclerosis Center in Scarborough, ME and clinical assistant professor for Tufts Medical School. I have a large clinical practice devoted primarily to the care of patients with multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological conditions. I have been participating in clinical research, working in improving outcomes in MS care, teaching medical students and residents to be familiar with MS evaluation and treatment, and interpreting neuroimaging studies.
