Additional areas of interest are complex clinical scenarios in spine patients, particularly when involving decisions about repeat or "salvage" spinal surgery and the clinical management of perioperative neurological deficits.

    Dr. Zunkeler is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

    In addition to his treatment and patient care responsibilities, Dr. Zunkeler evaluates patients for insurance and legal purposes in his office in Baltimore, Maryland. Independent medical evaluation (IME), record review and other consultation services are provided in workers compensation cases. Dr. Zunkeler is available to defense and plaintiff counsel to serve as a neurosurgical expert witness in selected civil litigation cases.
