  • Dr. Benjamin "Kyle" Potter, MD is based in Philadelphia, PA, at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where he serves as the Paul B. Magnuson Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an orthopaedic oncologist with expertise in sarcoma surgery, metastatic bone disease, and complex extremity and pelvic reconstruction, as well as complex surgery and bionic reconstructions (including osseointegration and TMR, AMI and haptic feedback procedures) for patients with limb loss. A West Point graduate and retired Army Colonel, Kyle completed his residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Miami. Dr. Potter is the former the Norman M. Rich Chair & Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Director for Surgery (Surgeon-in-chief) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He has published more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals in addition to numerous book chapters and reviews and has edited two editions of the Atlas of Amputations and Limb Deficiencies textbook. He has received numerous awards, such as the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Chicago, the COL Brian Allgood Memorial Leadership Award from the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the "Hero of Military Medicine" award from the Henry M. Jackson Foundation.
