Summary

  • Benjamin Kuritzkes, MD, FACS, FASCRS is the section chief of colorectal surgery at Overlook Medical Center. He is board-certified in surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery, and in colorectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and is one of the core teaching faculty of the Eugene Salvati/ RWJ colorectal surgery fellowship.


    He graduated from Yale University, and attended medical school at New York University. He trained in general surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University, and subsequently completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an additional fellowship in critical care medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University.


    His practice focuses on the surgical management of colorectal disease, including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and anorectal conditions. He skilled in the performance of minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He is the recipient of the Gold Award for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching, from Columbia University, and also the Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence, from Rutgers-RWJ Medical School.
