- Dr. Benjamin Blend is a pathology specialist last based in Bozeman, MT, with subspecialties in anatomic and clinical pathology. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1970, followed by a residency in pathology at both Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. After residency, he remained on the staff at UT Southwestern Medical School/Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was active in residency training particularly in surgical pathology. After 3 years, he left Parkland/Southwestern and joined A M. Laboratories, a privately owned reference laboratory, and became a partner. When the lab was sold 11 years later, Dr. Blend joined the pathology staff at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and again was active in training residents. He became a partner and practiced at Baylor for 10 years before moving to Montana. He practiced at Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital as a solo practitioner before retiring in 2017. Dr. Blend also completed an internal medicine internship at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. His work includes publications on malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the frontal sinus and laryngeal paragangliomas, which have been cited 7 and 9 times respectively.
