Summary

  • Radiology provides doctors, as well our patients, with a unique view of what is happening inside the body. For this reason, radiology is often referred to as the “eyes of medicine.” It is in this context that I find deep fascination with my chosen specialty. I appreciate the opportunity to use imaging guidance to illuminate the inner workings of the body. This enables me to perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and successfully manage many medical conditions.

I specialize in treating patients who have blood clots, liver disease, and varicocele. Making just a pinhole-sized incision, I use continuous, real-time X-ray images, ultrasound, and interactive CT scans to guide catheters and innovative medical equipment to the surgical site. By pairing technology with surgical expertise, I am able to provide my patients with nonsurgical treatments that allow most to return to their usual activities within a few days. I follow up closely with my patients, and the relationships I build with them are one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.

I am the director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Research Program and conduct research into venous thromboembolism, portal hypertension, and men’s health interventions.

I am committed to standing at the forefront of research and diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, contributing to patient care by using the most advanced technologies available.
