Summary

  • I am a behavioral neurologist and neuropsychiatrist with special interests in integrative medicine and in applications of technology (including wearable devices and AI) to clinical trials and personalized care. My clinical appointment is in neurology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and my academic appointment is in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Current research includes work on novel pharmacological treatments for tinnitus, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), and autistic stereotypies.

My most recent book, Seeing Depression Through a Cultural Lens, will be published by Oxford University Press in June 2024.

My "off-the-grid" private practice (no insurance, rigorous confidentiality) focuses on patients with mystery diagnoses or multiple conditions affecting the brain and the mind; midlife issues of highly successful and creative people; and coming-of-age issues of neuroatypical adolescents and young adults.
