Summary
- I am a certified adult-geriatric nurse practitioner (AGNP-C) as well as a registered clinical exercise physiologist (RCEP) with over 35 years cardiology experience. I direct a multi-disciplinary team of experts at the Center for Cardiovascular (CV) Lifestyle Medicine which includes NYU Winthrop Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. I am committed to providing patient-centered, culturally sensitive, lifestyle change interventions and promoting healthy behaviors for all individuals with or at risk for cardiovascular disease while understanding the population determinants of wellness, health and disease. I am an Assistant Professor NYU Long Island School of Medicine and am actively involved with research specific to cardiovascular disease prevention strategies. I am currently exploring community-based partnerships in an effort to improve health and eliminate disparities in communities that experience a disproportionate burden of heart disease and stroke. I am involved with the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, WomenHeart and other national organizations dedicated to raising awareness of heart disease.
