- Balazs Galdi, MD is an board certified orthopedic surgeon. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and Division Chief of the Sports Medicine Division. Dr. Galdi is originally from the North Jersey area. Growing up in North Bergen, he attended Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, where he was a First Team All-County Athlete in tennis. Following high school, Dr. Galdi received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. While at Rutgers, not only was he was Captain and Most Valuable Player of the Division I Men?s Varsity Tennis Team, but he also graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest honors. Furthermore, during his time ?On the Banks?, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society, received the Big East Conference Scholar-Athlete and the Rutgers College Scholastic Excellence awards, and was inducted into the Dean?s List each of his eight semesters. After college, Dr. Galdi subsequently received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was named a Golding Distinguished Scholar. After medical school, Dr. Galdi completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Following residency, Dr. Galdi completed the world-renowned Charles Neer Fellowship in Shoulder, Elbow, and Sports Medicine at Columbia University. While in fellowship, Dr. Galdi assisted in the care of the New York Yankees.
