- As the Director of Neuro-Interventional Surgery at North Shore University Hospital, Dr. Athos Patsalides joined Northwell Health in August of 2020. Dr. Patsalides completed his training at the National Institutes of Health, Georgetown University Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical College. Prior to joining Northwell Health, he worked as attending physician for 11 years at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell College.
Dr. Patsalides is expert in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases of the brain and spine, including stroke, brain aneurysms, brain vascular malformations (AVM, Dural fistula), spine vascular malformations. He is internationally renowned for pioneering minimally invasive treatment such as Venous Sinus Stenting for the treatment of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and Pulsatile Tinnitus.
