Summary

• Dr. Modica is a board-certified general surgeon and a board-eligible plastic surgeon. She has been fortunate to train with leaders in the field and is well versed in all aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Throughout her time in training, Dr. Modica has been known for her calm and compassionate demeanor and her meticulous attention to detail.
  Dr. Modica will be joining Dr. Ahmad’s practice, Long Island Laparoscopic Surgery, to perform body contouring surgery for patients after successful massive weight loss following bariatric surgery. As a board-certified general surgeon Dr. Modica has an excellent background knowledge in bariatric procedures and an understanding of the complex biological changes that take place thereafter. She knows the journey that each patient undergoes from the very beginning when they start to even consider bariatric surgery and she feels privileged to help patients improve both form and function with body contouring procedures to make patients feel and look on the outside how they feel on the inside.
  Dr. Modica has completed nine post graduate years of residency training in surgery. She completed her general surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Dr. Modica then went to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore for a fellowship in burn reconstructive surgery as she transitioned to plastic surgery. She then completed a plastic surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
  
  Dr. Modica is board certified in general surgery and she is board eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
