- Ashish Patel, MD, DDS, FACS is a physician and surgeon with special expertise in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. His practice includes treating tumors of the oral cavity (mouth), pharynx (throat), larynx (voicebox), sinuses, orbit, skull base and salivary glands as well as tumors of the skin, soft tissues and bones.
Dr. Patel is a key member of the Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Program and Clinic at Providence Cancer Institute and the Head and Neck Institute, both in Portland, OR. The program's multidisciplinary team of more than 20 specialists includes head and neck surgeons, otolaryngologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, reconstructive microvascular surgeons, oral pathologists, and dentists.
Dr. Patel’s clinical interests are focused on head and neck oncologic surgery and reconstructive cranio-maxillofacial surgery, with a particular emphasis on oral and oropharyngeal tumors, orbital surgery, skull base surgery, and complex craniomaxillofacial reconstruction with microvascular free flaps.
Dr. Patel’s current research endeavors are focused on treatment strategies for head and neck cancer, optimizing outcomes following cancer therapy, and developing protocols for cancer surveillance and head and neck reconstruction.
