Summary
- After his training at Mount Sinai and Harvard, Dr. Trindade started his academic gastroenterology practice in Long Island. He worked full time for Northwell Health System/Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/ Northwell for 11 years as Director of Endoscopy for Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Regional Director of Endoscopy Northwell Health Central Region. In May 2024 he was recruited to Rutgers Health as VP of GI Clinical Operations and Co-Chief of Endoscopy.
In addition to proving excellent clinical care, Dr. Trindade is passionate about advancing the field in Barrett’s esophagus. His research is involved in advanced endoscopic imaging, novel ablation tools, and non-endoscopic screening in Barrett’s esophagus. Please see the research tab for more information on past and present trials.
In addition to Barrett’s esophagus related procedures, Dr. Trindade performs other interventional GI procedures such as ERCP, EUS, large colon polyp removal (endoscopic mucosal resection), deep balloon enteroscopy, etc.
Finally, Dr. Trindade is active in the GI community. He is an active member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is part of the Technology Committee for 2016-2019. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological Association. Locally he is an active member of the New Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and was recently faculty at the regional NYSGE course.
