Summary

• Arusha Heyat is an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Birmingham, Alabama. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2012 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She then began working as a registered nurse (RN) on the trauma and burn nursing unit at UAB Hospital – the only hospital in Alabama currently designated as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.
  
  After a year of experience on the trauma unit, Arusha then began working for four years as an RN on UAB Hospital’s orthopedic unit where she cared for orthopedic surgical pre- and post-operative patients. While working in the orthopedic unit, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree and graduated from UAB in 2018. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and specializes in Adult Gerontology Primary Care. She has lived in Birmingham, Alabama for all of her life and is delighted to convert to sunny Florida life.
  
  Arusha’s vision is to forge relationships with her patients in order to understand their health needs, goals, and to work collaboratively with each individual to develop a plan to achieve their best possible state of health.
