Summary
- A passion for working with my hands to repair and restore led me to a career in surgery. After completing residency, I chose to pursue a novel career path for a surgeon—as a surgeon-clinical informaticist. I am dedicated to practicing general surgery throughout my career, with a focus on robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Interest in information technology and problem-solving led me to a Clinical Informatics fellowship at the University of Washington. My work in health IT project management, EHR implementation and optimization, documentation and clinical decision support tools, machine learning models, and broad applications of clinical informatics has expanded my skill set as a physician and enabled me to become a valuable member of a healthcare system.
