- Arpine Barsegian, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist in Orange County, CA. Interested in medicine from a young age, she was accepted into the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. A prestigious 7 year BS/MD program in New York City, the program selects the top students in the city who exhibit academic excellence as they progress through an accelerated curriculum. She received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center, where the MRI was first invented. As a medical student, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honors Society. Graduating as one of the youngest doctors in the country, she stayed at SUNY Downstate Medical Center for her ophthalmology residency training. She then went on to graduate from two subspecialty fellowships at UCLA: Cornea & External Disease fellowship at the esteemed Doheny Eye Institute-UCLA and Glaucoma Fellowship at the world-famous Stein Eye Institute-UCLA. She has co-authored 4 book chapters and numerous publications. She has also presented at over 20 society meetings and conferences and is currently an active member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Fluent in 4 languages (Armenian, Russian, Spanish, and English). She is practicing in Newport Beach, CA.
