He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago and sleep medicine training at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Tendler works as the Chief Medical Officer of Graymatters Health, the manufacturers of Prism and sees patients in his private practice two days a week. Since 2007, he has been the Medical Director at New Directions For Young Adults, a transitional independent living program in Deerfield Beach FL for young adults with autism and serious mental illness. His research primarily focuses on non invasive and de-stigmatizing treatments for patients with PTSD, OCD, depression and addiction such as neuromodulation. His many peer reviewed publications have changed the daily practice of outpatient psychiatry. He has led regulatory clearances, commercialization and insurance reimbursement efforts for multiple devices in multiple countries as the chief medical officer for BrainsWay (2015-2024). Dr. Tendler has been involved in many clinical trials from 2010-present as a principal investigator, research site and medical monitor. His honors include recognition from the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Sleep Medicine and academic accolades such as Summa Cum Laude and MD with Distinction in Research.
