Summary

• I am proud to be dean of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. I've just completed four years as dean or interim dean, twice. Prior to being dean, I had responsibility for the college's educational programs beginning in 2005. Most of my work has been in medical education including doubling our class size, creating new campuses, and developing new curricula, degrees, and certificates. You can see the results of the teams work in the Secchia Center, the Grand Rapids Research Center, and the MSU Innovation Park on the Grand Rapids Medical Mile.
  
  One of my major projects has been the creation and expansion of the college's public health division based in Flint. I was PI on two Charles Stewart Mott grants totaling $36M plus support for our spaces in downtown Flint. In the next year, we will begin the hiring process for more than a dozen endowed professors and their teams to the division. The support of the university and local hospitals have helped the division reach $100M in federal awards in the last seven years. Our community partners and faculty have been outstanding!
  
  Clinically, I am a general internist and round with our residents and students, which keeps me grounded and anchors my priorities in the care we provide to the people in our community.
