Summary
- Dr. Barsky grew up surrounded by people with a need to care for and help others, and utilized that passion throughout his educational and professional careers. After graduating Cum Laude from New York University, he continued onto SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Montefiore Medical Center for his medical training. During this time, Dr. Barsky was able to simultaneously help author two research publications and receive several awards. In 2006, he became a Presidential Poster Award Recipient at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting and Postgraduate Course. From 2010-2011, Dr. Barsky worked at Montefiore as a Chief Cardiology Fellow.
After becoming among the first cardiologists in the nation to be certified in Vascular Interpretation – a non-invasive procedure that relies on ultrasounds – Dr. Barsky joined Complete Cardiovascular Care, which was then under the direction of his renowned uncle and favorite mentor, Dr. Alexander Karpenos. After Dr. Karpenos’ passing in early 2013, Dr. Barsky smoothly stepped up to the role of sole practice provider, and has inherited his uncle’s legacy supported by both patients and staff.
