She completed a two-year Medical Education Fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center, during which time she also obtained a Master in Academic Medicine from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. She completed four years of residency training at Brown University and is a proud alumnus of the NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Chung has a passion for physician wellness and has made advocating for well-being a central focus of her career. She is the former Chair of the CORD Resilience Committee (2016-2018) and the first Wellness Week Subcommittee Chair for the ACEP Well-being Committee (2015-2018). She is also the Chief Strategy Officer for the ALiEM Wellness Think Tank (2016-2018) and played a key role in organizing and leading the first ever EM Resident Wellness Consensus Summit hosted at the Essentials of Emergency Medicine Conference in 2017. She has lectured extensively on physician wellness, developed mindfulness curricula for students and residents, and published on the current issues surrounding wellness and burnout and possible solutions for the future.

Dr. Chung is also one of the co-founders of a non-profit organization known as Airway: True Stories from the Emergency Room (http://airwaystories.org). Airway originally began in 2015 as a series of free New York City-based storytelling events for EM physicians with the mission of creating community, decreasing stigma, and fostering resilience through the vulnerability and shared experiences of storytelling. Airway events have since been organized in cities across the country and at multiple regional and national conferences including the AAEM Scientific Assembly, FemInEM Idea Exchange (FIX), and the NY ACEP Scientific Assembly.
