- I received an M.D. degree from the University of Modena in Italy, and peformed internal medicine and medical oncology training at the university of Milan, in Italy, focusing on the management of hematologic malignancies and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Afterwards I joined the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX) for post-doctoral studies, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for Bone Marrow Transplantation fellowship and clinical research. Currently I am physician-scientist at UAB, Birmingham AL, in the BMT& Cell Therapy Program.
