- Dr Anthony Carnicelli is the director of the Medical University of South Carolina's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, an Assistant Professor of Medicine, and board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, general cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He has numerous academic publications in critical care cardiology, cardiogenic shock, heart failure management, heart transplantation, invasive hemodynamics, mechanical circulatory support, cardiac arrest, valvular heart disease, acute and chronic heart failure therapies, and anti-thrombotic therapies. Dr Carnicelli has extensive experience in clinical investigation including drug and device development for patients with heart failure, shock, and atrial fibrillation. His medical education and training includes an internship and residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and fellowships in general cardiology, clinical research, and advanced heart failure at Duke University/Duke Clinical Research Institute. Dr. Carnicelli was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2013.
