  • Dr. Ansar Haroun was born in Pakistan, grew up in Italy, and was educated in England, at the Royal, Religious and Ancient Foundation of Christs Hospital.
    He started medical school in London, but failed to satisfy the examiners, and had to finish in Lahore.
    He returned home to England, and studied the medical humanities at Nottingham, earning a M.Med.Sci.
    He first came to the US as a Roosevelt Scholar, liked it, and stayed, for his training in Psychiatry at Yale.
    At Yale, he became interested in Vice, Virtue and Wickedness, and since much Wickedness is of developmental origin, trained in Child Psychiatry at Columbia.
    His clinical career was mostly as Chief Psychiatrist for the San Diego Superior Court.
    His academic career was at UCSD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, and at USD Law School, Professor of Law.
    He started and directed the world's first medical school elective in medical ethics ("Law, Logic and Ethics in Medicine" at UCSD.
    His military career was in both the Royal Army Medical Corps, and the US Army (both Medical Corps and PsyOps), with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan etc.
    He has published a book on deception, and papers on Wickedness, Informed Consent, Religious Delusion, Cults, Decision Making, Deception, Terrorism, etc.
    He is currently studying Akrasia, Eudaimonia and Mutazilite Ethics
