Dr. Anne Hallward is a psychiatrist located in Portland, ME, with a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, class of 1997. She completed her psychiatry residency and psychotherapy fellowship at the Cambridge Health Alliance from 1997 to 2002. She was the founder and host of Safe Space Radio, the first podcast on mental health in the US, which became a nationally broadcast show on NPR stations. She is currently in private practice, a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts University, and a supervisor of residents at Maine Medical Center. Her published works include research on fostering empathy and reducing stigma among medical students, self-awareness and cultural identity in reducing bias in medicine, and care after patient death.
