    Ankush is passionate about advancing knowledge within neurosurgery through high quality basic science and clinical research. During 2017-2018, he was awarded the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) research fellowship to conduct full-time translational and basic science research for 1 year in the laboratory of Dr. Manish K. Aghi at the Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF, where Ankush has been conducting both clinical and basic science research since 2015. Ankush is a recipient of numerous grants and awards for research in the field of organized neurosurgery. He has published extensively and has presented his work at numerous national conferences.

    Ankush is also a medical student member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), AANS/CNS Tumor Section, Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO), American Medical Association (AMA) and has been elected into the prestigious AANS Young Neurosurgeons Committee (among 1 of 2 medical students elected in North America annually). He is enthusiastic about engaging with and broadening the impact of organized neurosurgery within field of medicine.
