Summary

  • I am a board certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician. I currently practice mainly pain medicine but still provide anesthesia in the OR setting as a smaller part of my practice. Our practice also covers the inpatient Acute Pain (epidural) and Chronic Pain services. While I treat almost all types of pain, I do work closely with our vascular surgery team in the treatment of patients with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of their pain and symptoms. I am very active on committees within our anesthesiology department, hospital, the entire hospital system, regionally, and nationally as well. I have a particular interest in medical advocacy. I am very active in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, participating in a leadership role at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital and as Perioperative Medical Director of Care Redesign at the UNC System level. I am a co-chair of the Pain/Anesthesia P&T subcommitee at UNC Chapel Hill and at the UNC System Level. I am involved in the NCSA and on the executive committee, where I will be president in 2026. I am a board member of the Pain Society of the Carolinas (PSOC) and chair of their advocacy committee.
