- Andrew Harrison is Professor of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota, where he also serves as the Director of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Service and Fellowship in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Harrison is also on the Medical Advisory Board of the Benign Essential Blepharospasm Research Foundation, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ORBIS International, International Thyroid Eye Disease Study Group, and American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a Senior Honor Award recipient from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has also received the Lester T Jones Anatomy Award and the Merrill Reeh Pathology Award from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Harrison’s clinical interests include all aspects of functional and aesthetic oculoplastic and orbital surgery, and his research interests include thyroid eye disease as well as blepharospasm and related disorders. He has received multiple grants from the Benign Essential Blepharospasm Research Foundation for his pioneering work to treat blepharospasm and related disorders. He has published over 100 scientific papers and book chapters. Dr. Harrison has consistently received the Best Doctors in America Award and been selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists since 2005. Dr. Harrison graduated summa cum laude from University of Missouri Medical School. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, and went on to complete fellowships in Neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and in Oculoplastic Surgery at Casey Eye Institute Oregon Health Sciences University.
