Overview of Dr. Carbone

Dr. Carbone is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Hip Preservation. After completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai in New York in 2021 and his sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Sports Medicine Institute at Ceders Sinai in Los Angeles in 2022, he went on to complete a second fellowship in Hip Preservation at the American Hip Institute in Chicago before starting practice at the Jewett Orthopaedic Institute at Orlando Health in September 2023.

Dr. Carbone's scope of practice is the treatment of sports-related injuries of the shoulder hip and knee. More specifically, he specialize in the treatment of rotator cuff disease, shoulder instability, Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and labral tears of the hip, hamstring and gluteus tendon tears, knee ligament injuries (ACL, PCL, MCL, Posterolateral Corner injuries) and meniscal injuries, articular cartilage restoration (MACI, osteochondral transplantation). Dr. Carbone enjoys caring for athletes at all levels, from amateur through collegiate and professional. During fellowship, he was fortunate to serve as assistant team surgeon with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Galaxy, Anaheim Ducks, and Pepperdine Wave in addition to caring for local high school and junior college athletes.

Dr. Carbone's research interests include the treatment of tendon, ligament and cartilage injuries of the shoulder hip and knee. Additionally, Dr. Carbone is interested in the study of the biomechanical pathways, which result in premature osteoarthritis from sports related injuries and treatments to halt or reverse the progression of the disease.
