• Andrea Abati, MD, is a pathologist based in Potomac, MD. Her subspecialties are cytopathology, dermatopathology, neuropathology, and anatomic pathology. She completed a dermatopathology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her anatomic and neuropathology residency at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Her fellowship in surgical pathology was at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. She was the former Section Chief of the Cytopathology Section of the National Cancer Institute / National Institutes of Health. She graduated from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo in 1982. Dr. Abati served on numerous editorial advisory boards and has co-authored over 100 peer reviewed or invited publications. She served as the President of the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology from 2005- 2007 and was recognized as it's Educator of the Year in 2009.
