Summary
- I am dual board certified emergency medicine and EMS physician. I retired from the United States Army as a colonel after 23 years of active duty service involving numerous special operations and special mission assignments. After my military service, I joined the Medical College of Georgia emergency medicine residency program where I ultimately served as the Vice Chairman for Operational Medicine. I am currently the Associate Program Director for the emergency medicine residency at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center in Aventura, Florida.
I work as a deputy sheriff and the medical director for the Lake County Sheriff's Office where I am assigned to the emergency management bureau and SWAT team. I have experience with providing operational medicine support to multiple other law enforcement agencies.
I have a passion for teaching, wilderness medicine, emergency medical services, hospital process improvement, utilization management, academic research, team leadership, and emergency management.
