Overview of Dr. Krieger
Dr. Ana C. Krieger is a board-certified sleep specialist, with additional training in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Since 2008, she has been the Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Weill Cornell, an academic multidisciplinary program evaluating patients with sleep disorder in New York, NY. She is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Departments of Medicine, Neurology and Genetic Medicine, with appointments at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell and Rockefeller University Hospital. Dr. Krieger received her medical degree from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul School of Medicine and has been in practice for 30 years. She is actively engaged in clinical care, education, research and innovation, as well as community engagement and media efforts. She mentors trainees and faculty members in multiple disciplines including medicine, nursing, architecture, and engineering, and has been the principal investigator in sleep medicine research promoting a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach. She has published extensively in the field, while also serving in multiple panels at the National Institutes of Health, including roles as Chair of the Mentored to Independence (MTI) K99/R00 from 2020-2022 and Chair of the special NIH grant review committee MOSAIC Award to Promote Diversity in 2023. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar, and Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Krieger is an active lecturer, regularly contributing to media efforts aimed at improving sleep health in the population, and serves as a sleep physician providing guidance to several professional sports teams and athletes.
