- Dr. Burris is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree with Honors from Cornell University and her Medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Burris completed her Pediatrics residency, Chief residency, and Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the University of Rochester.
Her clinical interests focus on the diverse presentations of food allergies and allergic diseases, with a particular emphasis on breastfed infants. She serves as the co-director of the multidisciplinary Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic.
Dr. Burris’s research is dedicated to investigating the role of human milk in delivering food antigens to infants, as well as the pathways leading to either sensitization or tolerance. She is deeply committed to advancing the treatment of food allergies, with a specific interest in oral immunotherapy.
