Summary
- Amir received his M.D. from Ain Shams University in Cairo. He completed his residency at St. Louis University where he was also Chief Resident. Following his residency, he completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Yale University. He stayed on at Yale, joining the faculty in 2016. While at Yale, his clinical practice was focused on complex motility disorders, particularly of the esophagus. In addition to serving as associate fellowship program director, he was the director of outpatient endoscopy. In 2021, he left Yale to join CTGI and establish the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Center, serving as co-director. His clinical and research interests include GERD, esophageal disorders, gastrointestinal motility, and endoscopy unit efficiency.
