- Dr. Amir Mahan Ghaznavi is dual board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery. He completed his general surgery training at the elite Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Upon completion of his General Surgery training, Dr. Ghaznavi completed his plastic surgery training at the distinguished Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Ghaznavi concluded his training in Microsurgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation under the guidance of leading experts in this speciality.
Dr. Ghaznavi joined the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While there Dr Ghaznavi developed the multispeciality lymphedema clinic, utilized the innovative Resensation surgical technique to help patients restore sensation after breast reconstruction and lead various other initiatives and research projects making them the leading experts in their field.
Dr. Ghaznavi has devoted his time to research and is dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery. He has presented his research at various conferences across the United States. Since 2012, Dr. Ghaznavi has authored many original articles, abstracts, and book chapters in plastic surgery.
Dr Ghaznavi was voted Top Doctor in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale by Fort Lauderdale Illustrated in 2021 and 2022 and received many other awards, grants and accolades during his tenure there.
After immigrating from Iran with his family, Dr. Ghaznavi grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He enjoys the temperate climate of the Northern Virginia area and the lush green landscapes and rolling hills. It reminds him of the time he spent growing up in Pittsburgh and going to school in Philadelphia and Michigan. Outside of the office Dr. Ghaznavi enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, traveling around the country, cooking, playing golf and tennis and painting.
