Summary

• Amber graduated with her MSN in 2009 and has completed postgraduate programs in Nursing Education and Positive Behavior Support. She has been a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2010 and has worked in developmental/behavioral pediatrics, special needs orthopedics, and pediatric emergency medicine throughout her nursing career. Throughout her time in developmental/behavioral pediatrics, she helped establish a multidisciplinary Down syndrome clinic, assisted with program development and implementation of a training collaborative for pediatricians, early intervention specialists, and school personnel to improve access to care for children with autism, taught evidence-based parent training courses, and currently participates on multidisciplinary teams addressing feeding difficulties, high-risk NICU follow-up, and child development. She has presented locally, regionally, and nationally to parents/caregivers, teachers, early intervention providers, and other healthcare professionals (i.e., APPs, RNs, MD/DOs, etc.). Topics have included toilet training, ADHD, autism, sexuality education, neurobehavioral pharmacology, and developmental screening/surveillance. Her current areas of scholarly interest include feeding disorders, NICU follow-up, autism, and parent training and support.
