Summary
- Dr. Mohammed always had an interest in medicine since she was 9 years old. Having her Pediatrician as a role-model for her medical interests, she decided to pursue medicine starting at a young age. Realizing that millions across the world were unable to maintain their health due to poverty, environmental conditions, and lack of public assistance inspired Dr. Mohammed to look further into Family Medicine as her career choice. She was able to gain insight into how she viewed the world and her own community by having experiences that shaped her to become globally conscious and a culturally competent physician that allowed her to build strong/diverse coalitions throughout the community and beyond.
Dr. Mohammed is originally from Garland, TX. She completed her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Spanish in 2008. She studied abroad in numerous countries such as Argentina, Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala. She has a strong passion for community, international medicine/public health and HIV/AIDS advocacy. She graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies in 2015. She completed her Family Medicine residency training in Dallas at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in 2018. She has an International Medicine and Public Health Diploma and serves on the Young Professionals Advisory Council for the HIV/AIDS Resource Center Dallas. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
