• Dr. Allison Kinder Ross is an anesthesiologist based in Durham, NC, with a subspecialty in pediatric anesthesiology. She completed her medical degree at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in 1988, followed by an internship at Georgetown University Hospital, and a residency and fellowship in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University. Her research has been published in reputable journals, notably in Paediatric Anaesthesia, covering topics such as blood transfusion impacts in pediatric surgery and anesthesia risks related to autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, she has been involved in multiple funded clinical trials with a focus on alleviation of post-surgical pain in pediatric patients. She was promoted to Professor at Duke mid career due to her scientific and clinical contributions.
  Dr Ross has held leadership positions in her department as Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia, at Duke as Director of Pediatric Perioperative Services, and nationally as a Board of Director for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and for the Pediatric Anesthesia Leadership Council. She received the Duke University SOM Excellence in Professionalism Award in 2019.
  After stepping down as Chief, Dr Ross earned certification in business, professional and team coaching. In addition, she serves as a consultant for children’s hospitals and is a site reviewer for the American College of Surgeons.
  After 32 years of practice, she is now retired but continues to engage in academic work as a Professor Emeritus of Duke University School of Medicine.
