  • Allen Tien, MD, MHS, Board-Certified Psychiatrist (1988), Associate Professor John Hopkins University (1996), and Founder, President, Chief Science Officer at Medical Decision Logic, Inc. (mdlogix.com) 1997 to present. At Johns Hopkins, his research spanned public mental health epidemiology, prevention, and services with clinical neuroscience brain structure and function. He wrote software to support neuropsychological testing, data collection, and analysis in those focused research activities. In establishing and teaching a course on multi-level processes in the etiology of mental disorders, and working with the World Health Organization Office of Mental Health, he developed a broader health sciences informatics integrative model for how information technology and computer science could be used to enable innovations to bridge silos and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public and clinical mental health programs for prevention, early intervention, and coordinated treatment. Dr. Tien continues with innovation and problem-solving collaboration for grant proposals supported by Federal agencies such as NIH and SAMHSA.
