Dr. Nicholson studied biochemistry as an undergraduate at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Nicholson subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Following his graduate degree, he continued his education through an orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He dedicated an additional year to extensive training with a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Nicholson specializes in athletic, traumatic, and degenerative shoulder and elbow injuries. He is an expert in the most modern and minimally invasive techniques for shoulder and elbow repair. With the patient’s long-term quality of life in mind, he makes it his mission to tailor each treatment to the unique needs of each individual.
Dr. Nicholson serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers and has presented his research at national meetings.
