His specific clinical and research expertise includes cardiovascular disease prevention, state-of-the-art coronary intervention guided by intravascular imaging and flow assessment, next-day discharge transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and minimally invasive abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment. Dr. Postalian has completed board certification examinations in Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine, consistently scoring among the very highest in the nation.
Dr. Postalian is a graduate of the Texas Heart Institute interventional and general cardiology fellowship training programs sponsored by Baylor College of Medicine and received the Tauber Award as the most outstanding graduating cardiology fellow. During this program, he completed well over one thousand cardiovascular procedures. Prior to his cardiology fellowship, Dr. Postalian completed an internal medicine residency at The McGovern Medical School, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During residency training, he was honored as the Outstanding Senior Resident of the Year, Outstanding Resident of the Year, and Outstanding Intern of the Year.
Originally from Venezuela, he graduated first in his class from medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2010, obtaining the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. He also received the Lorenzo Campins y Ballester award and the Luis Razetti Award for outstanding academic achievement and research accomplishment.
Outside of work, Dr. Postalian enjoys exercising, the beach, discussing cars, playing video games on occasion for relaxation and spending time with his wife and children.
