- therapy of the glaucomas. Throughout, I was Director of the Glaucoma Service in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where I attained the rank of Clinical Professor. For the Department of Ophthalmology, I was also Director of Medical Student Education for 16 years & Director of the annual Research Symposium for 18 years. For the last 14 years of my medical practice, I was a partner in the Glaucoma Service at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. In 2012, I received a Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology for my long commitment to teaching at annual meetings (over 90 total courses, exhibits, presentations, & videos). I was honored by my residents with 3 teaching awards & my peers by inclusion in Best Doctors in America annually for 23 years. I retired in August 2019 as a Professor Emeritus & moved to Newport Beach where my wife & I enjoy being full time grandparents. In my free time, I workout daily, walk the beach, read science fiction, and attempt to play bridge.
