Summary

  • I am a Board Certified Family Physician who worked in Private Practice in Jacksonville, Arkansas from 1981-2020. I graduated from Mayo Medical School in 1977 and completed my Family Medicine Residency at Duke University in 1980.
In 2020 I accepted a teaching and faculty precepting position at the Baptist Health Family Medicine Residency Program in North Little Rock, Arkansas and continue in that position.

I am also a jazz pianist - and I am getting ready to release my 7th album later this year. My musical website is:
    www.storeygardmusic.com.

I was a member of the National Academy of Recording Artists from 2003- 2019 when the leadership changed the membership rules excluding practicing physicians - and others having other careers in addition to music.

I was a voting member of NARAS ( the Grammys) from 2010-2019, invited by NARAS to be a voting member in 2010 after release of my 3rd album.

All of my music is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Apple Music - and I hope to get it on multiple other digital platforms soon.

I have been invited to and played in Carnegie Hall in 2003, 2011, 2019 by the IBLA Grand Prize International Music Competition. My music was a winner in this competition in 2002 for jazz piano composition.

I was invited to played in Carnegie Hall again in 2022 by the worldwide association of Independent Recording Artists the Indie Collaborative. This time I was invited to compose and play an original piece in their EARTH DAY concert.

I have loved practicing Family Medicine for 4 decades and love teaching it to young physicians now.

I believe that it is very possible to be a practicing doctor AND be a recording artist - and I think the two compliment each other.

Music is MEDICINE for the SOUL!

I invite you all to check out my music and my website and wish you all the very best as we try our very best to keep people healthy.
