- Dr. Pai is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Director of the Patient and Family Wellness Center in the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute and Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her work is focused on the science and practice of promoting adherence and psychological adjustment in pediatric oncology and transplant populations. Since joining the Department of Pediatrics faculty in 2007, Dr. Pai’s research has been funded by internal, foundation, and federal funds including NIDDK, NCI and NINR. Her current studies are examining adherence to the outpatient treatment regimen in children and adolescents who received a hematopoietic cell transplant (R01CA157460-01; Role: PI) and testing the efficacy of an intervention to decrease uncertainty and psychological distress for parents of children newly diagnosed with cancer (R01NR014248-01; Role: Co-PI).
