Summary

• Adrienne Bruce Shannon is a PGY-6 in General Surgery with interests in surgical oncology. She received her BA from Vanderbilt University in Molecular and Cell Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2012 and her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2016. She graduated medical school under the AAMC's Medical Education Research Scholars certificate and recently completed two years of research time under the mentorship of Dr. Giorgos Karakousis in the Division of Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery. She has published work on clinical outcomes for patients with melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, appendiceal cancer, sarcoma, and gastrointestinal cancers. In the future, she hopes to become surgical oncologist and manage patients with skin and soft tissue cancers.
