- Adam Bloomfield MD FAAP is Vice President, Rare Diseases and Pediatrics, at Premier Research, providing medical monitoring oversight, therapeutic knowledge to study programs and supporting business development and consulting activities in the fields of Rare Diseases and Pediatrics.
Previously, as Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs, Moderna, Dr. Bloomfield was responsible for global medical affairs for the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.
Before his work with Moderna, Dr. Bloomfield worked with AstraZeneca and Sobi, engaging with targeted key opinion leaders, key institutions, prominent academic and clinical investigators, and the medical community in RSV immunoprophylaxis scientific discussions. He played an integral role in the planning and participation of medical advisory boards and training for medical/scientific speakers and interacted with leaders of groups identified as strategic partners, including both payer and provider groups. He provided scientific and clinical expertise/input into strategic and tactical decisions.
From July 2000 to March, 2015, Dr. Bloomfield was General Pediatrician and Managing Partner at Chestnut Ridge Pediatric Associates in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. He was also an Attending Physician at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Dr. Bloomfield also served as Laboratory Director for the practice and is familiar with many point-of-care laboratory testing practices and CLIA/OSHA compliance issues. He was also responsible for EHR implementation, e-prescribing, and internal IT.
Dr. Bloomfield has laboratory research experience in nephrology at the University of Michigan. He received his undergraduate B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1993 and went on to UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School where he earned his M.D. in 1997. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at New York University in 2000.
He is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
