- Dr. Abraham Perl specializes in the orthopedic care of sports-related injuries. He also provides comprehensive orthopedic treatment with a focus on orthobiologics, and minimally invasive ultrasound guided procedures to help his patients.
Dr. Perl completed his undergraduate studies at CUNY Queens College, before pursuing his MD at the American Program at Tel Aviv University. After medical school, Dr. Perl moved back to New York to complete a residency in Family Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During his residency he completed an additional certificate in Integrative Medicine through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona, furthering his interests in finding novel therapeutic approaches to benefit his patients.
After residency, Dr. Perl completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the renowned Baptist Health South Florida/FIU Program. He focused on the care of injured athletes and their return to play. Additionally, he learned advanced ultrasound guided diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. During his fellowship, Dr. Perl participated in the orthopedic care of the Miami Heat, Florida Panthers, Miami Dolphins, Inter Miami, Inter Miami II, Inter Miami FC, The Orange Bowl and The Miami Marathon. He was also the court call physician for The Miami Open and was the physician on record for the USA Golden Glove Championships. In addition, he cared for college teams at the NCAA D1, D2 and NAIA levels. He also provided sideline coverage for many high school teams in Miami Dade.
Throughout his training, Dr. Perl also focused on research and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented interesting cases at national meetings. Dr. Perl is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Association of Ringside Physicians.
